Recently we gained access to the 2013 OPS INC website through the archival tool Wayback Machine. If you’re interested in seeing the OPS INC website from 2013 click here. There is a lot of great information on this site and although this may be past the peak of OPS INC, it still provides insight into the company and the roots of AE. The history of AE is extremely important to us so we hope to archive much of the OPS INC and AE stuff as we can so it does not get lost to time.
If you’re interested in seeing the original OPS INC website from 2009 click here. We feel like the 2013 site provides more useful information, but it is still interesting to see the original site.
We want to give a special thanks to Ryan Clarke for finding these websites and sending it to us.

Since 1988 OPS INC has been one of the primary suppliers of suppressors to the U.S. Military. Our M16/M4 suppressor units have been in use, without failure, in Panama, Desert Storm, Somalia, Haiti and by an undetermined number of government entities and test facilities. During this current conflict the OPS INC SPR/MBS has been the primary silencer chosen by U.S. Special Forces Groups. As in the past, we guarantee our devices for 30,000 rounds or 2 years, which ever comes first. On the HK21 7.62mm belt fed machine gun, 1400 rounds were fired in a total of 15 minutes. The baffles did not become deformed under this extreme temperature. Our products are strictly evaluated before they leave the shop, which is why we have yet to experience a manufacturer failure in over 20 years. It is our hope and highest priority that our products help save lives.
Sincerely,
O.P. Seberger

Suppressors
The entire product line of OPS INC is designed for the unique requirements of the U.S. Military. One of these requirements is that the units are designed to drain water in the muzzle brake suppressor (MBS) in six seconds or less. Since the MBS units are fusion welded 300 series stainless steel, the devices can be submerged in salt water and sustain abuse that will cause other manufactures suppressors to fail. All of our suppressors are self cleaning and maintenance free, and can be attached and removed without the use of any tools. The patented design of the devices raises the normally low frequency blast sound to a primary ultra high sound pitch. This provides for a very compact unit that has the best attenuation figures of any suppressor on the market. From practical tests and the use of the units in combat for over 20 years, OPS INC suppressors have proven to be the best available, and the choice of the top operators. If you don’t see your caliber listed, contact us and we can let you know your options. 5.56/.22 caliber models include muzzle brake kit: muzzle brake, barrel fitting, thread protector, and crush washer. The 12th model 7.62/.30 caliber includes the muzzle brake and thread protector.

12th Model SPR MBS (MK12)
5.56MM Precision Suppressors
This model attaches to the weapon via a patented muzzle brake and an adapter that goes over the barrel for silencer alignment. When fired without the suppressor the muzzle brake effectively reduces recoil and muzzle climb while diverting muzzle gasses slightly forward, away from the shooter. The muzzle brake design eliminates upward and downward blast while reducing muzzle flash. The suppressor mounts via threads on the outside of the muzzle brake centering on the adapter fitting. A 20 degree taper on the adapter locks the silencer onto the barrel. On the M4, this fitting stops forward of the M203 cutout, allowing the mounting and use of the M203.

Muzzle Brakes
Maximum recoil reduction with reduced muzzle blast.
As the gases exit the muzzle they expand into a spherical pattern. The gases directly in front of the muzzle have an amplitude of approximately double that of the gases flowing 90 degrees to the side. The gases that strike the baffle are directed back to the front portion of the large ports. These gases decrease in amplitude after imparting some of their energy to the baffle. The gases that flow directly from the muzzle to the large ports have approximately the same energy level as the gases that have already struck the baffle. The two gases vector and the result of the combined flow is a direction almost 90 degrees to the axis of the rifle bore. This action eliminates a great deal of sound that would be directed back towards the shooter. The sound directly to the side of the muzzle brake ports is increased. In normal shooting activity an observer would not be in this area, so this increase is of no consequence.
Muzzle Brake
OPS Inc. muzzle brakes provide maximum recoil reduction with reduced muzzle blast. Originally developed for the military, the OPS Muzzle Brake is the result of extensive research into muzzle gases and the effects of redirecting them for recoil reduction and accuracy enhancement. A large expansion chamber followed by a baffle traps and redirects gases to eliminate dust printing, muzzle rise, and back blast. This results in recoil reduction of up to 70+% with virtually no “puff” back at the shooter… Varmint Hunters, you can watch your shots hit the target with no Dust Blow Ups! They are made of a polished 304 stainless steel for superior resistance to powder corrosion. Total dimensions are 2.6″ long and either .866″ O.D. or .970″ O.D. Also available with .575″- 40tpi for smaller diameter or thin tapered barrels.
Threaded Muzzle Brake For Our Suppressors
Our single chamber muzzle brake is used in conjunction with our suppressors and mounts. It effectively reduces muzzle rise and flash and lessens the felt recoil. The .30 caliber brake is used with our 12th model suppressor and the .22 caliber is used with all but our 3rd model suppressor. Also available as complete kit including barrel fitting, thread protector, and crush washer.
FAQ
Q: Are suppressors legal?
A: Of course they are! Most states allow you to privately own a suppressor. If you are a resident of that state you may legally purchase one through a licensed Class 3 dealer. The following states allow suppressors: AL, AK, AR, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MI, MO, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, and WY.
Q: How do I get one?
A: Once your heart is set on an OPS Inc. suppressor, contact your local Class 3 dealer and the process will start. There are a few forms to fill out and provide to the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) and then a federal $200 tax stamp is also required. I know, but there’s no way around that. Once the suppressor is purchased, we have to fill out paperwork to transfer it to the dealer; this paperwork takes about 4-6 weeks depending on BATFE. Once that paperwork is approved, ATF will do a background check which takes approximately 90 days. After the well deserved wait, you will be shooting quietly at the range with a look of envy from the faces around you. Your dealer can explain more about the process if you have more questions. For a list of OPS Inc. dealers, click on “Distributors” at the top of the page for a dealer in your state. If you already have a class 3 dealer that you prefer, we are more than capable of dealing with them as well.
Q: How does and OPS Inc. suppressor work?
A: The suppressor changes the low frequency gunshot blast to an ultra high sound pitch, much like a dog whistle. The sound is still there but has just changed frequency. The gases are tumbled through our baffles inside the suppressor, increasing the muzzle velocity and directing the gases for a more accurate shot. The baffle stack traps and changes the sound by canceling it off of itself as it bounces between baffles. Example: if two billiard balls are rolling towards each other at the same speed, once they collide, the energy will cancel itself out and stop the two balls. Q: Why would anyone need a suppressor?
A: Same question could be asked about guns. It is in our rights to own both, and for those that want to enhance their shooting experience, a suppressor is one of the best ways to do it. A suppressor allows a shooter and the people around them to shoot without the use of uncomfortable ear muffs, giving them the ability to communicate for spotting. Also, over time as a shooter it will reduce the risk of hearing loss or damage. The military and law enforcement have both been using our suppressors for multiple reasons as well. It conceals the shooters position, giving them an advantage for multiple shots without the targets locating them, also improving their long distance accuracy. While indoors, it reduces the shock wave and sound bouncing off the walls around you. Not to mention that the first thing you will do after you shoot an OPS Inc. suppressor is look at everyone around you with astonishment and a big smile on your face.
