What is the AEM5k?

To understand the AEM5k you first must understand the two most popular Allen Engineering suppressors since the AEM5k is simply a commination of these two models.

AEM5

Also known as the OPS INC 12th model, the AEM5 was the contract suppressor for the Mk12 program. This suppressor uses the A-Mount system which requires 2.5″ of mounting length and uses the longer 5.56 baffle stack. This suppressor is the most prolific Allen Engineering model. AEM3

Also known as the OPS INC 15th Model, the AEM3 was a contract suppressor for the Canadian Special Operation Forces. This suppressor uses the B-Mount system which requires 2.05″ of mounting length and uses the shorter 5.56 baffle stack. This suppressor is the second most popular Allen Engineering model. AEM5k

This suppressor was not a production OPS INC suppressor and never had a military contract. Instead it was made in extremely small numbers to civilians. The AEM5k combines the mounting of the AEM5 (A-Mount) with the shorter baffle stack of the AEM3. This allows the AEM5k to mount to any rifle already set up for the AEM5, but has a shorter form factor as the AEM3. Click here for more information.
